- You, the Bidder, are financially responsible for the use of your name for bidding purposes.
- All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items. Every item is sold on an “As Is” condition and basis with all faults.
- Only an authorized Gala committee member or LREF board member may nullify a bid. Failure to meet minimum starting bid or minimum bid increments (where required) will nullify your bid.
- Winning bidders must make arrangements for payment in full at check out no later than midnight the night of the auction or they will forfeit their right to purchase the item. Payment may be made by cash, check, VISA or MasterCard. Checks should be made payable to LREF.
- Movable items must be taken after the auction by exhibiting a “Paid” receipt at the time of departure. Arrangements for removal of other items must be made with a Gala committee member.
- All accommodation and travel are subject to availability and donor. restrictions. Reservations must be made in advance.
- Estimated values are provided for most items. However, you, the Bidder, must make your own independent determination as to the value of the auction items. The Gala committee or Ladera Ranch Education Foundation do not warrant values for auction items for tax purposes or absolute value. Values of celebrity items may vary depending on marketplace and demand.
- Auction item descriptions are solely for the purpose of identifying items. Seller disclaims any express or implied warranties. Bidder must rely solely on Bidder’s own investigation of the items. The Gala committee and Ladera Ranch Education Foundation disclaim any responsibility or liability for the performance of any item offered at this auction.
- Items expire one year from date of auction unless otherwise stated.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction opens for bidding at 6:00 p.m. Announcements of the closing times for bidding in item categories will be made during the evening. The closing bid for each item, circled by a Gala committee member, constitutes the winning bid unless it is subsequently nullified upon review by a Gala committee member or LREF Board Member. All items in the Silent Auction will have bid sheets attached or nearby. Bidders must write their name, bid number and bid amount on the bid sheet. In order to constitute a valid bid, each new bid must be written on the next available blank line of the respective bid sheet. Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum increase figure stated on the bid sheet. Some items available for bid are for opportunities to participate in special school functions with teachers and/or principals. Bidders must have a child in attendance at the specific school and the childs parent must be in attendance at the Gala to purchase these items. Winning bids may not be transferred to children whose parents were not in attendance at the Gala. Violation of these rules will result in the forfeiture of the participation certificate and amounts paid for the item will be considered general donations to LREF. In the event of a dispute, a Gala committee member will, if necessary, intervene and conduct a live auction to determine the winning bidder. The decision of the Gala committee member will be final.
